What is a cremation?
Cremation is the process of reducing human or pet remains to small particles, through intense heat. The entire process takes approximately three hours. First, the remains are exposed to flame and temperatures of up to 2000 degrees Fahrenheit for approximately two-and-a-half hours. During the process almost all of the organic material is consumed by heat or evaporation. After cremation the remains are mechanically or chemically processed into a coarse, sand-like powder.
Do I need to purchase a casket for cremation?
No. However, for health and safety reasons, crematoriums require a secure, leak-proof, enclosed combustible container. It can be simple, made of cardboard, wood, or corrugated paper. A casket is sometimes used temporarily to hold a viewing of the body before cremation. Some funeral homes have caskets available for rent for formal memorial services.

What size urn should I buy?
Urns are sold by size, measured by the amount of ashes that each urn holds in cubic inches. One pound of human or pet weight equals one cubic inch of remains.Therefore, if your loved one weighed 150 pounds you will need an urn that will hold at least 150 cubic inches. Standard individual cremation urns are designed to hold 200 cubic inches of remains. The size of each urn in cubic inches is listed with the item’s description. Use the filters on the left of our collections page to refine your results based on weight.
Can I get my urn engraved?
Yes! Engraving makes the urn or keepsake even more personal. Most urns can be engraved with name, date, and an epitaph. Each product description will indicate whether the urn can be engraved. Each product would also indicate the number of characters allowed for engraving. Engraving styles and capabilities may vary over time. Please contact us with any questions.

I am very happy with my purchase. I've ordered a pet cremation urn one other time and this one was just as perfect. I may have been able to buy a small, but my pup was in between sizes. I am happy that I went with a medium, there is plenty of room to fit the airtight bag of his ashes in the vessel along with a few other momentos. Please be patient when putting the top back on. If you force it, you will strip the threads.
We treat our pups like they are family. As a family, whenever we move, our pups come with us. We are happy that our Sawyer is home, right where he should be.

The urn is absolutely beautiful. I saw this same one at Heaven's pets located in Metairie Louisiana. At the time I had my 12 year old Australian cattle dog cremated and I was looking at that particular urn. I have to admit their prices were four times higher than your price and I got engraving done. The staff did not pressure me into purchasing the one from Heaven's pet she told me take my time I might find something I like better but I really liked that particular one so I searched and searched until I found your company and it was The Identical urn. It is absolutely beautiful I wanted something very simple she was a blue Australian Cattle Dog but she had a black band on her tail I wanted something to represent that black band. My only complaint and it's not major was that on the beautiful glossy black top is where you put the engraving. I was hoping the engraving would be on the front of the urn. Customer service was great it arrived a day before scheduled I was so happy to have it and finally put her ashes in its rightful place thank you for such beautiful product

I chose this urn because it seemed to "match" our black and white Scottish Fold. It's well-made and solid. I purchased the silver oval pendant and had it engraved, and I have it hanging on this urn. It makes a nice set, and honors our sweet Fibber Magee.

Love the urn however specifically requested engraving on side of urn - not on the lid so I could see the name all the time . The pictures show engraving in front and I requested it on notes but still arrives on lid

The urn is lovely. Glad we have it when the time comes to send our beautiful boxer back to heaven.
The urn and the engraving were great but when we received it the engraving was on the top of the lid. I went back and looked at the listing again to see if I missed where it had said where the engraving would be or if I forgot to select where I wanted it. I was unable to find anything. It would have been fine but we were planning on displaying it on the mantle and show everyone. I called the customer service line and they were great, never had any push back at all, and they resolved the issue to my satisfaction.
