What is a cremation?
Cremation is the process of reducing human or pet remains to small particles, through intense heat. The entire process takes approximately three hours. First, the remains are exposed to flame and temperatures of up to 2000 degrees Fahrenheit for approximately two-and-a-half hours. During the process almost all of the organic material is consumed by heat or evaporation. After cremation the remains are mechanically or chemically processed into a coarse, sand-like powder.
Do I need to purchase a casket for cremation?
No. However, for health and safety reasons, crematoriums require a secure, leak-proof, enclosed combustible container. It can be simple, made of cardboard, wood, or corrugated paper. A casket is sometimes used temporarily to hold a viewing of the body before cremation. Some funeral homes have caskets available for rent for formal memorial services.

What size urn should I buy?
Urns are sold by size, measured by the amount of ashes that each urn holds in cubic inches. One pound of human or pet weight equals one cubic inch of remains.Therefore, if your loved one weighed 150 pounds you will need an urn that will hold at least 150 cubic inches. Standard individual cremation urns are designed to hold 200 cubic inches of remains. The size of each urn in cubic inches is listed with the item’s description. Use the filters on the left of our collections page to refine your results based on weight.
Can I get my urn engraved?
Yes! Engraving makes the urn or keepsake even more personal. Most urns can be engraved with name, date, and an epitaph. Each product description will indicate whether the urn can be engraved. Each product would also indicate the number of characters allowed for engraving. Engraving styles and capabilities may vary over time. Please contact us with any questions.

Although the urn was returned, I kept the name plate because it is very good quality and well made.
We were having difficulty with the family of our deceased friend and the cemetery. She already had her empty urn in a family niche, but at her death any contractual or property right died with her. Estranged from her remaining siblings, and me as a non-family executor, we had no relationship with the cemetery. She had made prepaid arrangements for cremation, but despite her belief no rights to her prearranged interment. While the cemetery did try to facilitate the release of her space and the urn from her estranged siblings, the cemetery “offered” to obtain engraved name and dates for attachment to the urn when cleared, but at a price, and an estimated 10 month turn around. I got on the internet, came across your services and arranged an oval engraved medallion with a ribbon necklace for the urn within a couple of days. It is beautiful, better than a fully attached engraved plate, and just in time for the right price. Thank you so much. The cremains and the beautifully engraved medallion arrived at the cemetery on the same day.
