What is a cremation?
Cremation is the process of reducing human or pet remains to small particles, through intense heat. The entire process takes approximately three hours. First, the remains are exposed to flame and temperatures of up to 2000 degrees Fahrenheit for approximately two-and-a-half hours. During the process almost all of the organic material is consumed by heat or evaporation. After cremation the remains are mechanically or chemically processed into a coarse, sand-like powder.
Do I need to purchase a casket for cremation?
No. However, for health and safety reasons, crematoriums require a secure, leak-proof, enclosed combustible container. It can be simple, made of cardboard, wood, or corrugated paper. A casket is sometimes used temporarily to hold a viewing of the body before cremation. Some funeral homes have caskets available for rent for formal memorial services.

What size urn should I buy?
Urns are sold by size, measured by the amount of ashes that each urn holds in cubic inches. One pound of human or pet weight equals one cubic inch of remains.Therefore, if your loved one weighed 150 pounds you will need an urn that will hold at least 150 cubic inches. Standard individual cremation urns are designed to hold 200 cubic inches of remains. The size of each urn in cubic inches is listed with the item’s description. Use the filters on the left of our collections page to refine your results based on weight.
Can I get my urn engraved?
Yes! Engraving makes the urn or keepsake even more personal. Most urns can be engraved with name, date, and an epitaph. Each product description will indicate whether the urn can be engraved. Each product would also indicate the number of characters allowed for engraving. Engraving styles and capabilities may vary over time. Please contact us with any questions.

It is a beautiful piece but the bottom opening is the size of a quarter and requires the ashes to be poured in(with a funnel), and that's just not something we are going to do. Every other Pet Urn we have purchased has a bottom that is removable and the bag of ashes can be safely put in, its entirety. For what this cost that should be the case here as well. We just put it on top the box the ashes came in. Way too expensive for what it is.

Came within a week of ordering via FedEx. Our kitty was 9yrs old weighing about 12lbs. Vet was the one who placed her ashes in it, no complaints. It's about 7"L×4"H. Not truly a solid brown up close. But overall pleased of how fitting it is for her and its versatile size allows us to place her anywhere in our home-as she able to go when she was alive. Love that the urn isn't mimicking a humans urn.

The urn looks amazing and the best part is it doesn't look like one, which I love. It would be nicer if the hole underneath was a bit larger to get the ashes into. Shipping was fast, everything was great!!!

I wanted an urn like this for my beloved tuxedo cat but couldn’t find one so I bought this all black one and had my daughter-in-law paint it to look like my Deana.
Perfect for my Max’s ashes(cat). Now he can always be remembered. I plan to paint it to match his colors. It was a little difficult to get the ashes in the urn, but it worked out by putting the bag in first, then pouring the ashes in.
This piece is just beautiful.
My only complaint is that it was a bit of an issue putting the ashes inside the bag and getting it inside the urn. Would be nice if the opening was a bit bigger.

I purchased this urn for my kitty of 18 years. My purchased arrived when expected and met all my expectations. However, there was one issue. The opening to the urn is very small, so I had to place her remains in a new bag in order to fit inside.
We ordered the cat urn and its everything we thought it would be. We're honored to have our cats ashes inside.

Perfect size, solid material. I would recommend first putting the included cremated remains bag into the urn first, and use a funnel to gently pour the remains into the urn itself, while gently/carefully shaking it to help the remains even out inside.

This is an extremely compassionate company that hasn't forgotten what and why it makes what it does. This was perfect for my black cat that just passed. Something about it even reminds me of her expression when she’d sit and chill. Well made, but a little tricky getting the ashes in. We figured it out though.
It’s a beautiful urn, but the opening is so small. I tried putting the bag they give you in first, then pouring the Ashe’s in, but that didn’t work. I tried putting the bag with the ashes in first, but couldn’t get it in. I ended to pouring the ashes directly into the urn. Then when I put the stopper in and turned it upright, some ashes leaked out, so I had to put tape on the bottom of the urn. So, it could be better. I really didn’t want to have to pour in my cat’s ashes from the original bag. It was upsetting and I cried while doing it.

Already have two urns like this one, would have others if we were given a choice at the time we had to say goodbye. This urn is for my beautiful black kitty, she's been my best friend for 17+ years. My 22 year old cat deserved better than just some plain wood box the at home Dr sent him home in… I appreciate he was able to pass peacefully at home but for 22 yrs old I felt he needed better… this piece here is what he deserves!! The sculpture of the urn is pleasing, however the opening is too small to easily allow access for the plastic bag with the cremains to enter. The screw plug which seals the urn is flush when first removing, but doesn't screw black tightly. We kept screwing until it was recessed and still loose.
