Your Purchase Will Help Victims of Hurricane Harvey
A big thanks to all who purchased from our site during this time period. As a result of your purchases we are able to contribute $1000 to the United Way Relief Fund to help with the Hurricane Harvey disaster in Texas. With the UWRF we believe that these contribution dollars will be used in the best way possible.
Background: On August 25, 2017, Hurricane Harvey struck Houston, Texas and the surrounding vicinity. Aside from the damage caused by the punishing winds, more than 2 feet of rain fell in a very short period of time. Some areas as much as 50 inches - the average yearly rainfall for that area of Texas! As you most likely saw, flooding was rampant and people are still left very much in need of help.
Our Campaign: To help offer a hand to our friends and family in the Houston area, OneWorld Memorials, will be contributing $5 from every order to the United Way Relief Fund through Thursday, September 14th. This means that even with the great prices we offer our customers every day, your purchase will automatically provide a contribution to the hurricane relief efforts in the Houston area. Your purchase on our site is all that is needed.
OneWorld Memorials will take $5 from every order
and donate it to the
United Way Relief Fund to help the
victims of hurricane Harvey.
About the United Way Relief Fund: The United Way of Houston is a highly distinguished non-profit organization, and is rated 4 stars by Charity Navigator. United Way Relief Fund was launched by the United Way of Houston to help meet storm-related needs and recovery in the Houston community. Their website states that, “100% of your gift to the United Way Relief Fund goes to help our neighbors and our community recover from Hurricane Harvey.”
We have read estimates that more than a million people were displaced from their homes. Help is still greatly needed. United Way’s priority is to provide safety, shelter and basic needs, like food, to those needing help during the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Harvey. Once the community is stabilized, United Way will focus its efforts on long-term recovery.
Once our campaign is finished on September 14th we will post on both our blog page and Facebook page the amount we were able to contribute.
